New Residents

On behalf of the City Council and Administrative Staff, welcome to the City of Genoa!

Genoa was founded in 1835 is now home to approximately 5,300 residents. We continue growing and welcome many new residents and businesses to our community every year. We are very proud of our history and culture as a community and are excited for you to be part of what makes Genoa great!

We have a lot to offer, our excellent City Services, our beautiful parks including the Chamberlain and Carroll Memorial Parks, and an excellent academic system. Genoa is also ideally situated along convenient transporation, including I-90, as well as DeKalb, Rockford, and Elgin. We are very fortunate to have such caring citizens within our community which makes Genoa such a great place to live. Today we offer the commercial, industrial, and retail opportunities that developers compete for and the quality neighborhoods that homeowners wish for.
