MISSION

The Genoa Police Department mission is to safeguard life and property, preserve the peace, prevent and detect crime, enforce the law, and protect the rights of all citizens. We are committed to working in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues that impact public safety.

The Genoa Police Department is made up of six (6) sworn full time officers, including a K-9 Unit, and five (5) part-time sworn officers that provide police protection to a city of 5,000.  We also have an Auxiliary Unit which consist of ten (10) auxiliary officers to assist in community events and traffic control as needed.

The Genoa Police Department is committed to providing Community Oriented Policing by serving with compassion and protecting with honor.   This positive approach to policing requires officers to inherit a proactive attitude and provide full service personalized policing.  We strive to protect with honor and serve with compassion and in doing so create a proactive partnership with citizens to identify and solve problems.
