** Exciting News! The City of Genoa has partnered with CloudPermit, for Licenses & Permits, we will be migrating to the new page soon. Licenses can be applied for via CloudPermit as of May 15th, 2024. Building Permitting will go live in July. Please continue to submit Building Permits via paper and email until CloudPermit goes live in September.*.
Cloud Permit:
The City of Genoa uses Cloudpermit, a loud-based software, so you can complete the entire building permit and licensing process online or any mobile device. With Cloudpermit, you can:
· Apply for building permits and licenses at any time, from anywhere.
· Check the status of your building permit or building inspection (when your application status changes, you’ll automatically receive an email letting you know)
· Schedule or cancel building inspections.
· Communicate with your building department with time-stamped messages.
· Pay for your building permit with a credit card (if municipality offers online payments)
· Request and submit changes to an existing building permit.
How to get started:
To start, create your Cloudpermit account by visiting https://us.cloudpermit.com/login Once registered, you can apply for building permits and licenses and track their progress online.

Forms and Permits
Typable forms may be saved and submitted online via the email address here. All documents required by the permit must be attached and submitted in one email (including scanned plats). Forms may also be printed out and submitted at the City Municipal Building. Again, all forms required in each link must be turned in together.

Covenants and Restrictions
Some subdivisions (Riverbend, Derby Estates, and Oak Creek Unit 4) have private covenants and restrictions which supersede City zoning requirements. The City does not enforce covenants and restrictions. It is recommended that property owners check with their homeowner’s association, builder, or developer prior to commencing any work.

For annexations, amendments to the zoning ordinance or a zoning map amendment appeal to the Unified Development Ordinance, special use permits, variations, preliminary or final plats of subdivision, or preliminary and/or final planned unit developments, please use a Development Application.
