CITY HIRES NEW ADMINISTRATIVE CONSULTANT
The City of Genoa is pleased to welcome William J. Ganek (Bill) to the position of Administrative Consultant. Under the direction of the Mayor and City Council Bill is expected to serve on a part time and as needed basis the administrative functions of the City.
Mr. Ganek has over 40 years of experience in areas of local government management, community planning and economic development. Bill has served as the Village Manager for the Village of Algonquin for over twenty-one years and nine years as the Director of Planning for Crystal Lake, following 5 years with the McHenry County Planning Department.
During his tenure as Manager he oversaw tremendous growth throughout the Village of Algonquin, managing rapid development and economic growth. Population of the community grew from 11,300 to 30,000 and sale tax increased from $400,000 per year to $7,000,000 per year.
Most recently, following his retirement from the Village of Algonquin, Mr. Ganek has specialized in serving in interim administrative positions in a number of suburb communities including Highland Park, Fox Lake, Cary, Deer Park, West Chicago and the Northwest Water Commission.
