Rt. 72 Construction

Although IDOT will be doing work at the intersections along Route 72, parking will be allowed on Main Street on Tuesday (9/24/19). On Wednesday (9/25/19), IDOT will begin installing binder course pavement. Work will likely continue through Friday. Please be observant of construction signage.

North Water Tower Repainting

The North Water Tower repainting project is moving right along!

The Contractor has completed the sandblasting and is now priming the tank. Next will be the final coat of paint, including painting the City’s logo on the tower.

The City was awarded a low-interest loan and a 75% forgiveness grant, amounting to a savings of $265,500, from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to complete this project.

Depending on the weather, the project should be completed in about 3 weeks.
