Downtown Revitalization Project Update
The City’s Downtown Revitalization project will soon be underway! This project includes new street lighting, burying electric cables beneath brick pavers at the back of the curb and stamped concrete crosswalks. This project is scheduled to begin mid-April (dependent on weather). A more specific construction schedule will be provided closer to the date of construction starting.
Closure of South Emmett Street will also occur within the next few months. The image below on the left shows the new lighting throughout the downtown while the image on the right is an updated draft rendering of the Emmett Street gathering space. The updated draft rendering focuses less on being solely for events and instead makes the gathering space multi-purpose with activities for children and adults.
