Forestry Division

The City maintains over 2,000 trees that are located in the parkways along the streets throughout the community and City parkways along the streets, City parks, and open spaces throughout the community. These trees create the city’s urban forest, which provides many benefits to the residents. The Forestry Division performs citywide tree trimming, brush pickup, and mowing operations. This Division maintains the pedestrian bridge and pathway along with the park pavilion located at Citizens Park.

Yes, however, the additional cost for the larger diameter tree will be paid by the homeowner.

All tree removals in the parkway (right-of-way) must be approved by the City.

Homeowners may select from a list of trees provided by the City.

The City will participate in the purchase of 1 tree per year.

On a rotating basis, City crews periodically prune parkway trees throughout the City. Watering, pest control, etc. are the responsibility of the homeowner.

In this program, the City and the homeowner each pay 50% of the cost diameter tree which will be planted in the homeowners parkway (right-of-way). The tree will be planted by City staff.
